You get directions to make 3 models. It’s usually worth it to get more than one of these, and use the models as inspiration for your own similarly themed creations.

After the Mini Trains, this is my favorite of the current Lego mini series sets. Builds mini wheel scale excavator, fork lift, or flat bed semi-truck models. Even in this scale, all models are cute and fairly realistic looking. Fun set with easy building and convenient size. I like these reusable snap close storage boxes they come in too.

LEGO Creator Mini Construction Feature
We got this toy for our son when he was 3 years old. My husband had to put it together for him, but our son loved it. He loved the little orange car so much that he used it to play with his other toys, such as train tracks and city garage. We have since lost track of its location.
Now that our son is approaching 4, he is creating his own version of the tow truck by moving some of the Mini Lego pieces around. It’s fun to see how his creativity works. Overall, we love these Lego Minis.

Lego Creator Exclusive Set #20008 Tow Truck Feature
This set has provided my kindergarten son hours of fun. (The set says age 6+, but my son is five and has no problem with the small pieces.) He builds the robots, takes them appart, and builds others. The instructions are clear, even for a little guy just learning to read. There are many different models to build, starting easy and working up to more complex. There are also “ideas”, pictures of models without instructions to challenge my son after he’s done all the others. Most son loses interest in most toys after a few days. But, he’s had this set now for several months, and he still enjoys building with it. Best ten bucks I’ve ever spent for a toy!

LEGO Creator: Robo Platoon Feature
My eight year old daughter and her father have spent a lot of time with this set during the summer. First, they built the ferry, per instructions, which also has a nice car and trailer. Then they built an impressively realistic Deadliest-Catch-like crab boat and have made other fun lego things never envisioned by the Lego designer.
Putting it together per the instructions is like a 3 dimensional jigsaw puzzle. Reassembling it your own way gives plenty of creativity. There are enough pieces here that if this was the only Lego set you had, you could still have hours and hours and hours of fun making your own creations and not feel immediately frustrated that you needed more pieces. The variety of different blocks is excellent.
And the ferry itself is a very cool toy. Working ramps, a car and trailer to go up the ramps, then sail around: it’s just fun. It’s also detailed and plain fun to look at.
I hope there will be more Creator sets of this scope.
